Below Skinny Dip Falls

One of my favorite spots along the Parkway in North Carolina is the area around Skinny Dip Falls, not too far from Graveyard Fields. This photo includes the drop just below the main waterfall. This is one of the first photos I made with the 24mm lens on my Nikon F100.

Tree Reflection

This tree reflected in the still water of a Big Chico Creek pool in Bidwell Park caught my eye. I used my Nikon F100, 50mm lens, and Kodak T-Max 400 film to create this image.

Fern Falls

Here's a more traditional image of Fern Falls than the first photo I posted of this waterfall. I ended up waiting next to my tripod for almost an hour before the sun that had been filtering randomly through the tree went away and allowed me to get this shot in even lighting.

Cinder Cone

One of my vacations last summer was to Lassen National Park. We decided to climb the Cinder Cone one afternoon. I lugged my photo pack up this trail, which is much steeper than the picture would have you believe. The light didn't really cooperate while we were on top of the peak, but I turned around and saw this view as we were leaving. This was made with the Mamiya RB67, 127mm lens, and Fuji Velvia.
